Transition Year Programme

This is a compulsory one year programme after completion of the Junior Certificate Programme. The year provides opportunities for students to mature and take greater responsibility for their own learning. It exposes them to a wide range of different learning experiences. Three weeks work experience, a foreign trip and a residential activity weekend are offered every year. Public Speaking, First Aid, Driver Awareness, GAA, and Safe Pass courses are offered at certificate level.Provision of subjects and activities is subject to resources and is reviewed annually.Transition year is a valuable and enjoyable experience. It is generally agreed that students who do Transition year perform better in the Leaving Certificate than those who do not.
